Social Justice Awards 2022 Spring 大賽正式開啟！

Social Justice Awards是由青少年非營利組織Social Justice Watcher (SJW) 所舉(ju) 辦的寫(xie) 作、演講與(yu) 藝術大賽，旨在通過寫(xie) 作、演講與(yu) 藝術創作，引導青少年關(guan) 注社會(hui) 不平等現象，促使青年人思考並通過自身行動改變社會(hui) 。

在前兩(liang) 屆大賽中，賽事主題分別為(wei) 席卷全美的弗洛伊德事件（George Floyd Incident), 以及在COVID-19 疫情期間於(yu) 全球凸顯的亞(ya) 裔歧視問題（Stop Asian Hate）。我們(men) 收到來自中國、新加坡、美國、英國、加拿大、荷蘭(lan) 、瑞士、日本、泰國等地區80多所中學，超過300名學生的參賽作品。多位獲獎者被牛津大學、斯坦福大學、芝加哥大學、西北大學、布朗大學、康奈爾大學等世界名校錄取。

2022年春季，大賽新增了演講類別，旨在鼓勵青少年發聲，表達自己對社會(hui) 問題的見解。此次大賽，我們(men) 邀請了來自斯坦福大學、聖母大學、加州大學伯克利分校、麥克馬斯特學院、英國皇家藝術學院、哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學、羅德島設計與(yu) 藝術學院的教授、演講教練、設計師與(yu) 藝術家擔任賽事的最終評審委員。

賽事背景

2022 春季賽事主題 Close the Gender Gap 消弭性別鴻溝

Gender equality is fundamental to the achievement of human rights and is an aspiration that benefits all of society, including girls and women. The goal of gender equality, however, still remains largely out of reach, as illustrated by the recent wave of women's protests against sexual harassment, assault and gender violence (e.g. #MeToo movement). In parallel to calls for increased equality, a wave of mobilisation against gender equality has appeared in the public discourse. Conservative, authoritarian and populist voices in many democracies are now contesting the equal participation of men and women in society under the auspices of a "war on gender ideology." This backlash against women's empowerment carries considerable implications for anti-discrimination laws, policies protecting women against domestic violence, reproductive health（e.g. #Heartbeat Bill in US) and the establishment of gender quotas.

性別平等是實現人權平等的基礎，是惠及包括女童和婦女在內(nei) 的全社會(hui) 的願望。然而，性別平等的目標在很大程度上仍然遙不可及，近年來女性反對性騷擾、攻擊和性別暴力的抗議浪潮（例如#MeToo 運動）就說明了這一點。在呼籲增加平等的同時，公共話語中出現了反對性別平等的動員浪潮。許多國家的保守派、威權主義(yi) 和民粹主義(yi) 聲音現在正在“對性別意識形態的戰爭(zheng) ”的主持下爭(zheng) 奪男女平等參與(yu) 社會(hui) 。這種對婦女賦權的強烈反對對反歧視法、保護婦女免受家庭暴力、生殖健康（例如美國的#心跳法案）和性別配額的建立產(chan) 生了重大影響。

This year, we invite young people from all over the world to discuss the gender inequality, think about how we can change people’s ideas through actions. We hope to convey a message to everyone：All Genders are equal.

參賽要求

大賽題目 Prompts

1. “One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.” Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex(1949). How about man?

2. How is gender equality linked to other characteristics such as health, wellbeing of the society?

3. What is the role of social media in shaping public views about gender equality?

所有參賽者必須從(cong) 以上題目中選擇一個(ge) 作為(wei) 作品主題。

All candidates must answer one of these questions via writing, speech or artwork.

參賽條件 Entry Requirements

任何國家地區任何學校，且年齡在2022年4月1號提交截止日期時未超過21歲的青少年均可參加比賽。

Entry is open to students from any country and any school. Candidates must be 21 years old, or younger, on the date of the submission deadline, 1st April 2022.

關(guan) 鍵日期 Key Dates

4月15日：公布入圍名單

4月30日：公布比賽獲獎者名單

1st April 2021: Submission deadline

15th April: Short-listed candidates notified

Winners will be announced in 30th April.

獎項設置 Awards

比賽設有一等獎、二等獎、三等獎、入圍獎以及特別大獎

First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize，Shortlist for each genre and Grand Prize .

特別大獎得主將獲得由 American Scholastic Convention（ASC）提供的美國頂尖大學教授科研項目指定課題全額獎學金1份。一、二、三等獎得主也將分別獲得50%、30%、20%的指定課題獎學金1份。

參與(yu) 費用 Entry Fee

200人民幣/30美金。所有收入將被用於(yu) 項目運營以及其他非盈利性活動。

寫(xie) 作要求 Writing Requirements

● 作品須以英語寫(xie) 成

● 敘事文或論文（600-2000詞）；詩歌（不超過80行）

● 作品須為(wei) 原創。如有引用他人作品，參賽者必須包括文中引用以及參考文獻。如發現有抄襲，參賽者將被立即取消資格。不要在文中包括名字、家庭住址等任何個(ge) 人信息。

● The work must be written in English

● Narratives or Essays (600-2000 words); Poetry (no more than 80 lines)

● Participants must complete their work originally. If other’s works are cited, participants must include in-textcitation and bibliography. Once the participant is found to plagiarized, he or she will be disqualified directly. Do not include any personal information, such as name, home address, etc

作品格式 The Format

● PDF文件（文件須小於(yu) 20M）

● 作品題目必須置於(yu) 作品第一頁

● Times New Roman字體(ti) ，12號字，2.0行距

● 如有參考，請使用文中引用及參考文獻

● 文件名以姓名+類別組成（Sam Zhang, Writing）

● PDF files (files less than 20 M)

● The title of the work must be placed at the first page of the article

● Times New Roman, 12-point type, double-spaced

● If there are references, please indicate the in-text citation and references

● The file is named by name + category (Sam Zhang, Writing)

演講作品要求 Speech Requirements

● 作品須以英語演講

● The speech must be done in English

● Video length must not exceed 5 minutes

● Participants must complete their work originally. Once the participant is found to plagiarized, he or she will be disqualified directly. Do not include any personal information, such as name, home address, etc

作品格式 The Format

● 視頻請以視頻鏈接形式（例如bilibili，youtube etc.）上傳(chuan) ，其他作品以PDF作為(wei) 最終格式上傳(chuan) （例如：某參賽作品為(wei) 攝影/視頻作品，則參賽者可以先建立word文檔，在文檔中插入作品/視頻鏈接以及作品陳述，轉換成PDF形式提交）

● 文件名由姓名+類別組成（keyi Lin, Speech）

● Videos will be uploaded in video link (e.g. bilibili, youtube etc.）

● The file is named by name + category (keyi Lin, Speech)

藝術作品要求 Art Requirements

● 漫畫、設計、視頻、繪畫、插圖、混合畫、攝影、版畫

● 作品須為(wei) 原創。

● 參賽者可以組成不超過3人的團隊完成作品，或自己獨自完成。

● 不要包括名字、家庭住址等任何個(ge) 人信息

● 參賽者須提交不少於(yu) 100詞的英文作品陳述

● Works in the form of comic art, design, video, painting and illustration, mixed media, photography, printmaking
