2025年John Locke論文競賽正式開題！

John Locke寫(xie) 作競賽被譽為(wei) 文科寫(xie) 作領域的巔峰賽事，其背後的牛津大學更是為(wei) 其增添了濃厚的學術底蘊。隨著近幾年John Locke競賽的參與(yu) 者數量和投稿文章數量的持續攀升，其競賽的含金量和影響力也在逐年增強。

去年墨頓有三位同學在激烈的競爭(zheng) 中脫穎而出，斬獲佳績，為(wei) 中國學子在該項賽事中贏得了寶貴的一席之地。今年，新一屆賽事戰火重燃，中國學子能否延續輝煌，再次在國際學術舞台上展現中國青年的思考與(yu) 洞見，備受期待。

John Locke論文賽事設有曆史、 哲學、 經濟、 政治 、神學、 法律、 心理七大類目。豐(feng) 富的子類目設定，不僅(jin) 可以幫助泛文社科申請者提供相應的背景提升機會(hui) ，也能讓同學們(men) 根據自身的興(xing) 趣與(yu) 發展方向來選擇適合的寫(xie) 作選題。

約翰·洛克學院（John Locke Institute）是英國牛津的一個(ge) 獨立教育組織，以十七世紀牛津哲學家、古典自由主義(yi) 的鼻祖約翰·洛克命名，與(yu) 牛津、普林斯頓、布朗、白金漢大學等名校教授合作組織享譽全球的頂尖學術賽事。

它所舉(ju) 辦的約翰·洛克學院論文競賽受到英美各大頂級院校的認可，是含金量極高的論文寫(xie) 作競賽。該比賽引領學生去探索7個(ge) 學科分類中極具挑戰性而又妙趣橫生的問題。

參賽對象要求：

任何國家的學生都可以參加。在截止提交日期2025年6月30日前，參賽者須在18歲或以下。

少年組的參賽者在截止提交日期前，須在14歲或以下。

參賽論文要求：

參賽者需要在2025年5月31日前報名參賽，如果參賽者未能在報名截止日期前報名，約翰·洛克學院將無法接收參賽者的論文。

每篇文章隻能回答所選主題類別中的一個(ge) 問題，但參賽論文數量不設限製，參賽者可以同時在多個(ge) 組別提交論文。

論文不得超過2,000字（不包括圖表、數據表、腳注、參考書(shu) 目或作者聲明）。參賽者需要通過約翰·洛克學院的官方網站提交論文，以PDF格式保存。PDF附件的標題應為(wei) 名字、姓氏、類別、問題編號（例如：Alexander-Popham-Psychology-2.pdf），若格式不正確，論文將會(hui) 被拒收。

每位參賽者都需要提供一名學術推薦人的郵箱，該學術推薦人應該對參賽者的寫(xie) 作能力較為(wei) 熟悉，最好是學校的老師，或一位與(yu) 參賽者無親(qin) 屬關(guan) 係的成年人。約翰·洛克學院將以郵件形式與(yu) 這位學術推薦人聯係，以確認參賽者提交的論文確實為(wei) 本人原創作品。

逾期提交：

如果參賽者因任何原因錯過了2025年6月30日的論文提交截止日期，可以參與(yu) 逾期提交的輪次 —— 參賽者必須在原截止日期的24小時內(nei) 通過信用卡支付20美元的逾期提交費用，並於(yu) 2025年7月7日（延期 7 天）或 2025年7月21日（延期 21 天）前提交論文。

參評審獎項：

約翰·洛克學院有一套專(zhuan) 有的論文評審原則，參賽者可能會(hui) 被要求與(yu) 約翰·洛克學院的一位教授討論他們(men) 的論文，以識別任何潛在的剽竊、合同欺詐、使用人工智能或其他形式的欺詐。對於(yu) 上述問題，約翰·洛克學院擁有最終決(jue) 定權。

評委會(hui) 將根據論文所展現出的知識、理解水平、證據的有效使用、論證質量、結構、寫(xie) 作風格和說服力等方麵進行評判。建議盡可能準確、直接地回答問題。

最好的論文往往是那種可以改變一個(ge) 人的想法的論文，若論文忽視了或未能解決(jue) 議題的反論觀點，則不太可能成功。

入圍名單將於(yu) 2025年7月31日11:59pm（英國夏令時）公布，入圍參賽者將被邀請到英國牛津參加9月份的學術會(hui) 議和頒獎晚宴，屆時將公布獲獎者。學術會(hui) 議和頒獎晚宴並不是免費的，但需要注意的是獲獎者並非必須前往牛津參與(yu) 學術會(hui) 議和頒獎晚宴，即便缺席也可以獲獎。

所有入圍的參賽者和獲獎者，都可以下載電子證書(shu) 。如果參賽者獲得一等獎、二等獎或三等獎，並前往牛津參加頒獎晚宴，則將會(hui) 收到一份簽名證書(shu) 。

論文競賽主題‍‍

競賽共有7大論文主題，每個(ge) 主題下有3道命題，參賽者需要任選其一，完成一篇不超過2000詞的論文進行提交。七大主題為(wei) 哲學、政治、經濟、曆史、心理、神學和法律。

Philosophy：

Q1. What moral obligations do we owe to living persons that we do not owe to future persons? What are the implications of your answer for policy-making?

Q2. Should we treat non-human animals well because they have rights, interests, neither, or both?

Q3.“When civilians are the main target, there's no need to consider the cause. That's terrorism; it's evil." Is this correct?

Politics：

Q1. Should politicians ever be punished for lying?

Q2. David Hume celebrated the wisdom of "unlettered men". In a democracy, do the votes of the unlettered tend to protect a country against the bad ideas of the lettered or do the votes of the lettered tend to protect a country against the bad ideas of the unlettered?

Q3. Diversity is fashionable, but is it valuable?

Economics：

Q1. What kinds of behaviour are engendered by the hope of profit? Is such behaviour better or worse, on balance, than the behaviour we should expect if all enterprises were owned by charities or governments?

Q2. What will be the effect on socio-economic mobility of the UK government's plan to impose value added tax on school fees?

Q3. Should Oxford lower its admissions standards for the sons and daughters of generous benefactors?

History：

初級賽 Junior Prize：
