2024暑期美初線上寫作閱讀營

眾(zhong) 所周知，華裔學生數理基礎相對較好，數理學習(xi) 資源也相對較多。相比於(yu) 數學，文史方麵的表現是華裔學生的短板，閱讀尤其是寫(xie) 作能力是很多華裔學生的痛點。同時，優(you) 秀的英文文史老師資源在華人圈也比較難於(yu) 獲取。機構多年來全力支持我們(men) 學生拓展閱讀興(xing) 趣、提升寫(xie) 作水平。對機構輔導升學的學生，我們(men) 每月均布置有閱讀與(yu) 寫(xie) 作作業(ye) ，且督促其完成。

另一方麵，機構也利用地處波士頓的優(you) 勢，多方聯係一些在職的寄宿美初美高文史老師常年給華裔學生開設小班課。目前正在進行的2024美高銜接課程-美國文學課、分析寫(xie) 作課，以及兩(liang) 周前剛推出正在火熱報名中的2024頂級美高暑期線上寫(xie) 作營、閱讀營、美國曆史、世界曆史、歐洲曆史以及西班牙語拉丁語課程，都獲得了華裔家長的追捧。

由於(yu) 前述幾個(ge) 2024暑期課程都是針對美高學生，因此這段時間以來，不斷有家長來詢問我們(men) 是否有針對6-8年級的初中孩子的暑期寫(xie) 作、閱讀課程。為(wei) 了響應眾(zhong) 多家長和學生的期待，機構在今年暑期，開設2024美國頂級美初線上寫(xie) 作營及閱讀營，針對6-8年級的初中學生，通過30課時的美初學術寫(xie) 作，以及30小時的莎士比亞(ya) 戲劇作品賞析，學生能鍛煉他們(men) 批判性閱讀能力，提升學術寫(xie) 作技能，對自己的英語閱讀寫(xie) 作能力也更有信心。此次課程的授課教師是和我們(men) 合作多年的前菲兒(er) 學校Fay School戲劇語英語老師Ms. Maslak。

Ms. Maslak教授的莎士比亞(ya) 閱讀課和寫(xie) 作課程都深受學生和家長的喜愛。五年多的時間裏，她已帶領機構的學生閱讀了近十部莎士比亞(ya) 經典戲劇，另外也指導學生參加創意寫(xie) 作競賽、開設美初當代青少年文學閱讀等課程。

Ms. Maslak老師以她特有的專(zhuan) 業(ye) 戲劇演員特質，授課時肢體(ti) 語言極為(wei) 豐(feng) 富，語音語調抑揚頓挫，快慢有致，引人入勝，和學生互動極好，受到學生和家長的一致好評。機構一直以其高端、專(zhuan) 業(ye) 之服務理念，致力於(yu) 把美國最優(you) 質的精英教育資源帶給國內(nei) 外華裔家庭，相信不會(hui) 讓大家失望。

課程簡介：

The summer writing intensive is a class specifically designed for middle school students to enhance their overall writing abilities; focusing on fluid syntax, grammar instruction, and writing structure. Students will explore both personal and analytical essays, as well as work on their ability to respond to short literary works through their writing. Analytical essay writing is perhaps the most important skill for success in English classes. This intensive will demystify the five-paragraph structure- focusing on writing a thoughtful and cohesive thesis statement, followed by adherence to the standard form, and an understanding of how to choose a good quote to dissect and analyze. Students will then learn thetenets of what it means to write a personal essay filled with descriptive language, sensory imagery, and literary devices.

美初分析閱讀與(yu) 寫(xie) 作課程專(zhuan) 門為(wei) 初中生設計，目的是提高學生的綜合寫(xie) 作能力，重點關(guan) 注學生寫(xie) 作的句法流暢度、語法和寫(xie) 作結構。學生將學習(xi) 批判性閱讀及分析性論文寫(xie) 作。如果想要在英語課上取得成功，分析寫(xie) 作可以說是最重要技能。本課程將揭開五段式寫(xie) 作結構的神秘麵紗——著重指導學生如何撰寫(xie) 一篇有思想性的、行文流暢、結構緊湊的文學分析論文，並了解如何準確地引用原文來進行論證和分析。學生會(hui) 接著學習(xi) 創作一篇充滿語言描述、感官意象的個(ge) 人論文。

莎士比亞(ya) 戲劇賞析-無事生非

課程簡介：In this class, students will preview the language of William Shakspeare and search for the layered meaning of his eternal storytelling prowess. We will focus on introducing Elizabethan English, as well as exposing students to the historical context of Shakespeare’s time in order to inform their reading of his work. Students will then experience reading from his famous comedy, Much Ado About Noting. Students will be able to expand their analytical reading and writing skills through an understanding of character development and an examination of the detailed plot. We will work on reading comprehension and theme tracking as a skillset to enhance critical reading strategies that are necessary for success in the English classroom. This class is a great way for students to be introduced to the rigor of a Jr. Boarding school curriculum and it is an excellent preview for required reading in their future English classes.

莎士比亞(ya) 戲劇是寄宿美初英語課程的必選內(nei) 容。在莎士比亞(ya) 戲劇賞析這堂課裏，學生將閱讀莎士比亞(ya) 的作品，並探索其作品更深層的意義(yi) 。課程的重點會(hui) 放在伊麗(li) 莎白時期的英文，並讓學生了解莎士比亞(ya) 時代的曆史背景，以便更能理他的作品。學生將閱讀著名的莎士比亞(ya) 喜劇《無事生非》。學生將夠通過對角色發展的理解和對故事情節的分析來擴展他們(men) 的分析閱讀和寫(xie) 作技巧。課程會(hui) 著重於(yu) 閱讀理解和主題追蹤，以提升學生的批判性閱讀技巧，讓學生在英語課堂上能取得成功。這門課可以讓學生提前體(ti) 驗寄宿美初嚴(yan) 謹的課程，也是對未來英語課的絕佳預習(xi) 機會(hui) 。

Ms. Maslak

Ms. Maslak，前菲兒(er) 學校Fay School戲劇與(yu) 英語老師。2012年本科畢業(ye) 於(yu) 哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學巴納德學院戲劇專(zhuan) 業(ye) ，2015年畢業(ye) 於(yu) 哈佛大學教育學院社會(hui) 學及藝術教育專(zhuan) 業(ye) ，隨後加入波士頓Fay菲兒(er) 學校任職。指導學生演出過多場戲劇，參與(yu) 演出多場百老匯戲劇。2020年轉入新澤西一私立學校任教至今。
