The inclusion of violence in entertainment mediums such as films and video games has been the subject of debate for decades. Someone believes that violent products are harmless forms of recreation. Even though violent products have some valid points, the problems they cause must be taken seriously.

Due to their commercial success and widespread popularity, it would be unnecessary to prohibit movies and video games with violent themes, such as crimes, gun-shooting, and gangsterism. First, these products with a hot-tempered theme offer a way to  release negative emotions in a safer environment than the real world. This is beneficial for individuals who work or study under pressure all week. In addition, through the narratives of films and the characters they control in video games, people can explore a broad range of life experiences. As an illustration, if a player assumes the role of a police officer in a video game, they may feel a greater sense of responsibility and justice as a result of their actions.

On the other side, the violence has an effect on the audience, especially the children. Despite the fact that most nations have laws restricting access to films and video games intended for adults, these products are still readily accessible to teenagers. Video games can influence immature people's values and morals. For instance, mass murders and robberies will not be punished in the virtual world, which will confuse youth about what constitutes right and wrong behavior. Therefore, a preoccupation with violent media such as movies and video games may result in a rise in actual crimes and acts of violence on college campuses. There is a need for stricter regulation of violent films and video games in order to prevent or at least mitigate the negative effects these media have on adolescents' thoughts and actions.

To summarize, due to the entertainment value of violent media such as movies and video games, absolute prohibitions on these types of media are impossible to execute; yet they should be regulated because of their potential risks.
